  • CAT B Boeing 727-200, 737-200, 737-500, Sud Aviation Caravelle

* For example, if you fly one leg in the B747-200 and one leg in the B747-400 ā€“ or two legs in the B747-400 ā€“ you cannot fly the B707, DC10 or MD11. At the minimum, you can fly one aircraft from each category up to two times.

BONUS: Completing this award also earns the Original Hubs Tour award (legs 1-5) and the Cross Country award (legs 5 and 6), if you do not already have these awards. You can either claim each award as their requirements are met or claim all three awards at the end of the Vintage Wings tour. If the latter, remind your hub management that youā€™re claiming multiple awards at the same time.

Look for the Vintage Wings tracking sheet in the Downloads page of our website.

787 Delivery, Part 2

Show Award Details

Fly a 787-8 from Charleston Airport (KCHS) to one of the airports listed on the tracking sheet (Resources | Downloads on the website). Do the same for the 787-9. Do the same for the 787-10. Use the livery of the destination airline.

Pilots can fly all three 787 variants to one destination, i.e., a 787-8 United Airlines flight to Houston (KIAH), a 787-9 United Airlines flight to Houston and a 787-10 United Airlines flight to Houston. So far, All Nippon (ANA), Air New Zealand (ANZ) and United (UAL) are the only airlines receiving all three variants.

Or, pilots could fly an Air Canada 787-8 to Toronto (CYYZ), an All Nippon 787-9 to Narita (RJAA) and a Lufthansa 787-10 to Frankfurt (EDDF). There are lots of possible combinations; check the tracking sheet.

Liveries may not be available for all variants and all airlines; check.

This is a CAT-free award, meaning any pilot may complete this award, regardless of their rank.

This description and tracking sheet were updated 06/14/2021 to change from Paine Field (KPAE) to Charleston (KCHS); flights completed by 06/14/2021 remain valid.

Winter Games Tour

Winter Games Tour

Show Award Details

This tour takes you to all of the cities hosting the Winter Games, including Beijing for the 2022 games. Unlike the summer games, the winter games can take place in smaller, remote communities so the arrival airport may be 100+ km away, sometimes in a different country or at an airport that cannot accommodate inter-continental heavies. Since the winter games started in 1924, air travel was not even a consideration in the early years.
So, there are direct legs for those who think they can fly a 777 out of Plattsburgh and then land it at Innsbruck, and there are optional multi-leg routes such as Plattburgh-Vienna-Innsbruck. You can try to land a heavy at the smaller airports but risk having your PIREP rejected due to landing rate. Hub Managers will strictly enforce the -800fps landing rate limit for flights counting towards this award.
Fly United or United Express liveries and use United or United Express call signs for all legs. You may fly non-award legs between award legs.
For more information, see the posting in the Events section or check out the tracking sheet in the Downloads section.
You may fly non-Winter Games award flights between award legs; all flights must be completed within one year of completing the first award flight.

No non-Island Hopper tour flights may be flown until the entire tour is complete.

I have asked for the flights to be added to our schedule; until that happens, you can fly the routes as charters. Regardless, use the flight numbers provided.

For more information about the Island Hopper flights, see https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Island_Hopper

Many thanks to Christopher Steffen UAL112 and Robert Woodring UAL503 for recommending this tour.

United Express Tour

Show Award Details

Fly the prescribed aircraft on the prescribed routes.

You may use the following aircraft for this award:
Dash 8 class: Fly the 200, 300 or Q400
CRJ2/7/9 class: Fly the Bombardier CRJ200, CRJ550, CRJ700 or CRJ900
E17x/E19x class: Fly the Embraer E170, E175, E190 or E195
E135/145 class: Fly the Embraer 135 or 145, any variant
No aircraft substitutions across classes; e.g., don't sub a CRJ700 or an ERJ175 for an ERJ145.

All flights in United Express livery
All flights use UAX#### call sign
Do not use contractor callsigns - ASQ, SKW, UCA, etc.
Fly online or offline
Non-UAX Tour legs may be flown between award legs.
I realize some aircraft are lacking in some sims; e.g., Q400 in X-Plane (coming), E135-145 in P3Dv4x, etc.
