Greased Landings

Greased Landings
Looking at the Hub stats, I see quite a few low two digit landings. (-20fpm, -28fpm)
No matter how smooth I think I land, I'm still up there in the low three digits.
What's your secret for a smooth landing?
Regards,
Mark

Bloody Mary's...... the more I drink during the flight, the better the landing - every time.
Actually, I have no idea how to land most planes well. Especially the Airbus..... those planes are a different kind of flying... altogether...
(I am getting good at the A330 however)

I don't know if these will help but here are some Youtube vids:

These are all FSX/P3D centric. I would imagine the premise is close in XP but I can't say for certain because of the different flight modules in that sim.

Re: Greased Landings
I get lucky every now and again. Other then that, I am usually in the triple digits as well. I think my average is just a shade under 300.
Personally I have reason to believe that landing a heavy at 20fpm might scare the living dog sh*t right out of me in real life. I would rather feel the landing and know I am firmly on the ground and not feel like I am sliding off the runway in one fashion or the other.

If I could I would. If I don't, it's because I am lazy!

Thanks Ray,
I luck out every now and then, but I'm usually in the 100-300 -fpm range myself.
Not something I obsess over, I was just trying to get the Hub landing rate stats down a little.
Stay Safe!

Re: Greased Landings
Contrary to my "I would love to feel the landing thing" I do try hard for a smooth landing and get aggravated when I don't get in the award zone
I truly am onboard with lowering hub #'s for sure. Now if we just scrub my numbers off the charts we should dip down a few points
I need new tires and wheels after my landings

Re: Greased Landings
I can't help the harder than usual landings. I spent 23 years in Naval Aviation so all my landings are controlled crashes!

Any landing we can walk away from was a good landing. ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)
